I have been listening to my favorite music this morning and enjoying the new songs out. Jerrod Neiman is on it. Every time I turn around he is coming out with another badass song.  He puts out better stuff then the shit alot of people are right now.  So much bubble gum music in country can be annoying. Makes me miss the good ole days.

I was stuck in traffic and bored and annoyed with the local country and rock stations. So I scanned for a bit and ended up on the Lightning 100 station. I have to say that the music was good – even though I didn’t recognize a damn song out of the 6 or 7 that they played. But it was a nice change. I went ahead and punched the shortcut button to save it as button number 5, so I can find it again. Maybe I need to expand my horizons a bit and start listening to new music. You know, get out of that comfort zone for a bit.

I have given this much thought lately and know that the men who have each written the soundtracks for several hit movies include:

  • John Williams
  • John Barry
  • James Horner
  • David Lynch
  • Hans Zimmer

If you think about some of the recent blockbuster hits, give the people who wrote and performed the soundtracks some credit for enhancing your movie experience.

It seems like everything they play is easy on the ears. They have enjoyed a long, diverse career – both as the group and in their stints as a single artist. I’m not sure if I have bought all their albums, but I can’t remember a single song by the Eagles that was not good.

So good that he could do them in pen and not have to worry about finding a sharpened pencil each time he picked a new crossword puzzle up. I didn’t think it was such a big deal when I was growing up, but now that I think about it, it really impresses me on how good he was at these puzzles that suck at doing.

He would try and get me to do one from time to time, but it just wasn’t my cup of tea and I still don’t enjoy doing them. I more suited for word search puzzles, but I just don’t enjoy spending my free time working my brain that hard. Give me a good video to watch or good music to entertain me.
